The Heart of Jesus for Children

ree

Verse of the Day: “But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.’”Mark 10:14 (NKJV)

This moment in Scripture reveals something so tender, so powerful, and so deeply reflective of the heart of Jesus.

The disciples thought they were protecting Him from distraction or inconvenience. They saw children as interruptions. But Jesus saw treasure.

“He was greatly displeased…”

These are strong words. Jesus wasn’t mildly bothered — He was moved with righteous frustration because His disciples were blocking the very ones He came to welcome.

And then He spoke a sentence that echoes through eternity:

“Let the little children come to Me…”

Jesus Welcomes the Small, the Simple, the Pure

Children came with no titles. No achievements. No religious performance. Just open hearts.

And that’s exactly what Jesus loves.

In a world obsessed with status and strength, Jesus honors humility, innocence, and trust. He teaches us that the kingdom of God isn’t inherited by the mighty, but by the childlike — those who come with faith uncluttered and hearts wide open.

A Call to Protect and Lead

This verse isn’t just an invitation — it’s a responsibility. Jesus says:

“Do not forbid them…”

Do not be a barrier. Do not be silent. Do not overlook them. Do not underestimate what God wants to do in their lives.

We are called to lead children to Jesus, not simply teach them about Him. To create spaces where they can encounter His love. To model a faith worth imitating.

The Kingdom Belongs to Hearts Like Theirs

What makes children so precious to God?

Their trust.Their dependence.Their ability to believe without needing to control. Their purity of heart that sees God more clearly than we often do.

Jesus is telling us: “If you want to understand My kingdom, look at them.”

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for loving the little ones and teaching us what childlike faith looks like. Help us to lead children toward Your arms, never away. And teach us to come to You with the same trust, humility, and purity that pleases Your heart. Amen.

Takeaway: Children aren’t the future of the church — they are part of its heartbeat today. And Jesus is still saying: “Let them come.” 🌟👧👦
